Applied Mathematics for Business

The University Studies degree is an innovative degree that provides students at Texas A&M the flexibility to combine several areas of interest into an individual degree plan. Academic advising and the process through which students submit proposals are key to ensuring that students complete degrees that will meet their academic and career expectations.

Students interested in applying to University Studies should determine the desired combination of one concentration and two minors. Students must meet with an Academic Advisor to discuss their plans, grade requirements and receive an application packet.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis once they are submitted. Students must be in overall good academic standing (see GPA requirements below, no I's or X's) at TAMU and in good standing in the three areas they choose for their concentration and minors. Student must have no more than 100 passed hours at the time of application.

University Studies degrees offered by the College of Science:

The Mathematics for Business area of concentration consists of courses that are designed to give students a solid foundation for the business environment. (2.0 GPA)

This area of concentration consists of courses that are designed to give a solid foundation for Pre-Professional students. (2.0 GPA)

The Mathematics for Teaching area of concentration consists of courses in mathematics and education to prepare students to become secondary certified teachers in mathematics. (2.75 GPA or approval of academic advisor)

The Secondary Science Teaching area of concentrations consists of courses in science and education to prepare students to become secondary certified science teachers. (2.75 GPA or approval of academic advisor)
